My name is Adam Elkady. I was born and raised in Brooklyn NY, I currently reside in Orange County California. Aspiring to be a writer, I reconnected with my first love of painting several years ago in attempt at self therapy and to stimulate creativity. I was fortunate enough to sell some of my work and have been painting ever since. I draw inspiration from various other art forms (music, film, literature, architecture etc.) and from city life as well as the much valued time I spend in nature (ocean, mountains, desert). I’ve adopted several styles through countless hours of trial and error focusing mostly on Abstract Expressionism. Some projects are approached with a specific plan in mind and I stick to it entirely. Sometimes I pivot and the execution of that project changes, other times I go purely on instinct and emotion. It’s this type of controlled chaos that allows me spiritual freedom and calms the perfect storm that lives in my mind… Art saved my life and I thank you for being a part of my journey.

Why My Work?
In a world with more options than ever to acquire art, what sets mine apart? The truth is no one person’s work is for everyone, certainly not mine. In my opinion, when a person purchases art it should be AT LEAST for one of the following reasons:
-It’s aesthetically pleasing - Simply and most obvious, you like the way the piece looks in a desired space. Sometimes it’s just a vibe….
-Does it illicit an emotional or intellectual response? Does it make your soul sing or eyes water? Does it make you think? And do you you like the thoughts and feelings that are present?
-Does it serve a purpose in a social or business setting? Is this a conversation piece to discuss with guests and business associates?
-The investment factor- With art being an ever changing market, you have to ask yourself if it’s a wise investment. Do you believe the value of a piece will increase with time, and do you have intention on future resale? (This last one can get more complex as it is more business oriented than pleasure)
If you can answer yes to at least one of these then the work in question may be a good fit and if it’s not, I very much hope that you find a piece of work that speaks to you on one of these levels if not more.
